Miniature art is often described as 1/6th scale or smaller and less than 25 square inches (roughly post card size). The “spirit” of miniature goes beyond pure scale and size and differs from small paintings. Miniatures are painted under a magnification device onto smooth paper, with the smallest of brushes. The finely painted details delight the eye! Miniature art also poses a special challenge to watercolor artists, for whom paint has a mind of its own. |
